Our People

Together: when a single word makes all the difference.

Stéphane Weber
Java Expert

I am a senior developer within the Java Community and I have worked for a variety of clients on different types of web application projects. After graduating from UCL as a civil engineer in Computer Sciences, I started my career with Unisys as a Java developer. In 2005 I decided to join Capgemini. I was attracted by the career path offering and the attractive salary package. I have not been disappointed. I have a very good relationship with my counselor who helps me when I need it. I can also rely on my practice manager to help me make the right decisions for my career. I have had the opportunity to coach some junior developers on my last assignments and to try out the role of development team leader. I am now acquiring experience to become a software architect.

I have enjoyed the quality and breadth of learning opportunities on offer, particularly the courses at Capgemini’s International University at Les Fontaines in France. I get the chance to participate in all sorts of socializing, training and knowledge-sharing events. It is stimulating to work for one of the leading Java system integrators and one of the earliest adopters. We are always focusing to stay well ahead of the curve.

Networking with the other 80 members of the Belgian Java Community of Practice as well as with the 15,000 Java professionals worldwide is great fun, but does sometimes take up quite a lot of my after work hours. Running for me is a great way to relax after a hard day’s work and to keep the balance. I recently trained for the Brussels marathon, which I ran on October 14th. It was a tremendous experience, and I am already looking forward to the next one.
