All 705 employees of Capgemini Belgium have a high education level and therefore, Capgemini is the “smartest” company of Flemish Brabant. The company aims especially at graduates with a masters or “master after masters” degree.

“When we’re recruiting for our basis, we’re mostly looking for civic engineers, and economists, but also a lot of other degrees”, says Kris Poté, VP Marketing & Communications. “For high-technological profiles we’re making the exception, as then we’re looking at experience levels.”

According to statistics, Capgemini doesn’t work with employees with a secondary school degree. That is caused because of the outsourcing of administrative functions.

The biggest challenge for Capgemini isn’t the recession in first place. “Our biggest challenge is our search for highly educated IT-personnel”, says Kris Poté. “The demand for highly trained engineers IT people grows, but the number of students isn’t. It’s a real catch 22. It takes a lot of effort to recruit the correct profiles.”
